Artists we work with

Osvaldo Lobalzo

The famous saying: The artist is born, it is not made is more than evident in Osvaldo Lobalzo. There are people who are born with a special gift for whatever, in fact we all have a gift in something, we are all born with some special capacity for something. And the gift of Osvaldo was / is to create, to continuously investigate since he was a child, to live by and for art, with which we believe that there is no more dignified, noble and more dignified attitude to a person that of creating, in this case, creating art, the ultimate expression of human creation.

Osvaldo was born on March 23, 1959 in Buenos Aires. From a young age he discovers his concerns for art, and in full military oppression, and with great disapproval from parents, he manages to finish his career in graphic design.

His career begins with a series of figurative paintings between idealism and expressionism, in small formats. Little by little and going through informalism, he reaches abstraction. It is here where he will begin to work with wood - scratched, burned, moldy, carved - paper, and other derivative elements that will accompany him to this day. Since then one of the most recognizable signs of identity of his painting, the other will be the large format, with

Michael Gutteridge

Michael Gutteridge was born in Manchester, grew up in Manchester, and now lives in Manchester, pretty much, therefore, living the manifesto as appeared on the popular 'identity' T-shirts of the Madchester era. Sometime during the late nineties whilst doing his bit for the environment by cycling home from his place of work, he suddenly came across around 15-20 paint brushes of various sizes scattered all over the road and so got off the bike and gathered them all together, dodging traffic as he did so. How they got there, is anybody's guess, but after he had taken them home he decided it would be a shame not to use them and so began to paint a series of mostly urban landscapes.

This activity took a more serious turn in 2001, when, after submitting a painting he had created with the aforementioned brushes in the 2000 Open Exhibition at Stockport Art Gallery, he was invited by them to present a full exhibition of some 20 paintings the following year.

Malcolm Lucas

Malcolm Lucas is a local artist from Ramsbottom. The theme of his work is based mostly on painting landscapes, with a usage of bold lines, bright colors and big brash strokes in oil or acrylic. His subjects of focus are mostly people he has met in his life.

Malcolm sees himself as an expressionist; just a look at his paintings lifts our mood by the great intensity of his expressive colours. His landscapes and portraits show an intense use of colour and form, making them instantly recognisable.

David Bullock

Inspirational water colour artist David Bullock, from Bury, Lancashire, will be exhibiting his work at MASA-UK Art Gallery during April and May.

He had studied fine art, etching and art history, however abandoned this career to spend the following years working in various professions and businesses. His artistic talents are not only in the visual art: “I have written and performed music throughout my life but have firmly set this aside only playing at home for my own personal enjoyment.”

His art work is concentrated mainly on cityscapes with an attention to old Victorian architecture or any other ancient and elegant structures. He gives a particular focus on the lighting conditions in which his art work is set.

David endeavours to add life and movement to his pieces, where ever possible with the inclusion of figures and vehicles and such helping lure the viewer into the scene.

“I use a slightly modified classical technique requiring patience and dedication but this has led me towards alternative subjects giving me the opportunity to take on larger and more adventurous compositions”.
